ABOUT NICHOLAS BURMAN

 

Born 1987 and known online as "Doomfruit", Nicholas is a drummer and freelance artist from California and currently based in Portland, OR.

His work is heavily inspired by the genres of fantasy, horror, sci-fi and romanticism especially in films and music. It combines engaging levels of detail with pop-sensible shape language to tell a story that might appear succinct on the surface yet darker upon a closer look.

Preferred mediums include ink; utilizing crowquill nibs/dip pens, brushes and brush pens, as well as the occasional steel brush. Generally working on hot press watercolor paper due to it's capacity to take washes, splatter, and multi-media technique while retaining a smooth, accurate surface for line-work.
